TOP-level talks have been demanded by Jane Kennedy over the future of 150 jobs at the Jacobs plant at Binns Road.
The parent company, United Biscuits, wants to outsource its finance operation to India as part of cost-cutting measures.
Unions fear any move could force the closure of the Wavertree financial centre and say staff have not been given answers about the future of the plant or their own job security.
Now Jane Kennedy has written to United Biscuit's Chief Operations Officer, Jeff van der Eems on behalf of fellow Liverpool Labour MPs calling for talks at Binns Road about the future of the plant.
She said: "There is serious concern that staff are not getting any answers to perfectly reasonable questions about the future of the financial centre.
"They are very worried for their future after loyally serving the company for many years and helping it to make good profits.
"We want some straight talking from United Biscuits about their plans and an end to the cloud of uncertainty and anxiety which hangs over the plant."
